"We believe very strongly that transforming government services means transforming government itself." I have to say I'm almost tempted to write the word "discuss" after this statement since it looks like it's straight out of an exam paper. Depending on your particular take on life that could be business studies, philosophy or even theology, it is so radical.
I have to pinch myself to remind me that we are talking about government here - and UK government at that. The same sclerotic structure that has hardly changed since the days of the British Empire. "Would you like it in triplicate sir? That comes as standard."
But mild cynicism aside, I am really pleased to see this and genuinely encouraged by the efforts that are being made to bring government into the 21st century. As Bertie Wooster might have said: "This is damnably fine stuff."
If this is a taste of things to come, I'm all for it.
We believe very strongly that transforming government services means transforming government itself. .... So government has to think of itself in a different way.
